MORE ON WHO WE ARE

and

WHAT WE OFFER

We are a small residential design and build company, comprised of all family members at this point. We strive to please clients, incorporate thoughtful and innovative design and complete exceptional work. We like what we do, show up every day with good intentions and take pride in our process from beginning to end.  Our spirit is positive and fun, yet focused and precise. We value all employees, regardless of skill sets, as beneficial and necessary to our success.

We are seeking co-workers who will fit with our existing program yet push us to reach greater potential. Our skillsets range and we are looking for co-workers to fill the gaps. We are hiring out of desire and excitement, not urgency and an overwhelming need. We are open to a start date to make your transition comfortable for you, especially if you will be leaving your current position.

We believe in competitive pay suitable for Seattle living standards and comparable to other design and build companies in the area. Salary will also be based on experience, skillsets and responsibilities. We offer paid time off and holidays. We’re seeking to offer health care to all employees but we are unable to provide at this time. We encourage further educational and training opportunities with approval. We also provide supplemental HD & B gear, such as tees/sweatshirts/hats.

We strive for a diverse and inclusive culture. You can be assured that your age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or gender identity will not be a barrier to joining our team or inhibiting your ability to advance within our team if hired. We want each employee to reach their full potential so we will strive to provide a safe environment for you to be you, just as you are.

We are based in the Columbia City neighborhood of Seattle. This is where we live and where our shop is situated. We work all around Seattle, however.

APPLY

We have varying backgrounds and experiences in formal hiring settings. We never liked that approach, nor did we feel comfortable. So, we are open to various ways of applying for positions within our company. We will certainly look at every “application”, whether it’s a resume, cover letter, infographic/poster, video, photo gallery, wood working project, etc. Enter as many forms and be as creative (or not) based on what works for you. Please identify which position you will be applying for and incorporate some evidence of qualifications listed below in your “application.” Basically, we’re looking for you to show us who you are and what you can offer our team. After we receive applications we will review and determine whether you are potentially a good fit for our company and then reach out to schedule an interview.

For the interview process, we will be casual in dress, approachable in personality yet professional with our questions. We will ask all individuals the same questions (from background/experiences, to personal interests, to technical skillsets, to references), and open it up to you for questions. We will likely want to meet an additional time for an “in the field” experience, where we might have you join us on the job site or in the shop. We want this process to be comfortable where you can show us your ability and potential for fitting in with our team.

Send all “applications” to jana@hunterdesignllc.com. Send any questions about the process to Jana as well.
